What is Academy Shadowing?
We are excited to offer 5th and 6th grade students who live in the Kealing Middle School attendance zone the opportunity to spend the day as a Kealing student. Students will have the opportunity to visit core and elective classes in addition to experiencing the excitement that comes along with being a Hornet. From the exemplary Fine Arts Programs, Athletic Programs, Career and Technology Programs, and Academic Electives to the engaging core classes and notable AVID program, shadows will get to see an assortment of Kealing program offerings. We will make this opportunity available to as many students as possible but slots will be filled on a first come, first served basis. We look forward to hosting our Kealing Academy Shadows during the Spring of 2020!
Due to a number of constraints, requests to be paired with a particular student will not be granted.
Students will receive a note to submit to their home school attendance office so their absence can be counted as excused.
To reach the shadowing request form, click the link above. (scroll over Kealing Academy Shadow Request) You will receive an email confirmation once your request has been submitted. You will receive an email when your shadow date has been chosen. Please be patient as it can take up to 2-3 weeks to receive a shadow date confirmation.
Students should arrive at Kealing between 7:00-7:20 a.m. and report to the Library for instructions. The following dates have been designated for Academy Shadowing:
* March 2–12 and April 14-28
Pick-up & Drop-off
Drop-off: You may walk with your child to the Library for check-in. If you do not walk with your child, please give them directions to report to the Library and we will assist with check-in.
Pick-up: Plan to pick up your child from the Library after school. Please arrive between 2:40 and 3:00 pm. Please do not park at the front of the building when picking up your child. Students are loading buses and we need to ensure room for them to depart. There is parking at the back of the building off of Salina. Students who are walking or being picked up by a sibling will be released from the Library as well.
